The Northeast Seniors Golf Association (NESGA)

The Northeast Seniors Golf Association provides its members a season of golf tournaments at a variety of New Mexico golf courses wherein members compete for prize points in fun and friendly competitions. The NESGA Tournament Director can change the tournament format for each event, choosing from options like individual stroke play, team scramble, or team best ball, and sometimes adding extra fun contests to the tournament. Pairing partners may be requested on the tournament registration form, or the Tournament Director will pair the players by playing ability when possible. Players are categorized by playing handicap and gender into competitive flights for each tournament. Players are notified by email when the tournament results, which include points earned, have been published to the NESGA website. Members may refer to the NESGA website (schedule) for results for previous tournaments as well.

NESGA has been in existence for more than two decades. The Association is open to men and women aged 50 and over. The Association’s annual membership averages 140 active members -- new members are always welcome. Association tournaments typically have at least 50 players, often including guests. Tournaments are usually scheduled on a weekday and occur approximately every three weeks from February through November.  NESGA tournaments comply with the USGA Rules of Golf, NESGA Local Rules of Golf, any golf course local rules, and the World Handicap System. The tournament entry fee includes the greens fee, charged by the golf course, and a NESGA points fee, which is used for prize distribution.

Members compete for low gross score or low net score by flight. The members with the lowest scores earn prize points. Points may also be earned for closest-to-the-pin and any other tournament contests. Points earned in each tournament are available as a credit that can be used for future tournaments or member dues. Members may request their credit balance be “paid out” to them in the form of a gift card at any time. Annual membership dues are required and dues are nonrefundable. An active USGA handicap is required either through NESGA or through another golf association.  Membership application form can be found below.
